CCDC Release Destinations

Comanche County Detention Center, often shortened to CCDC, is the county's main adult jail. A departure from CCDC can have several meanings. Bond, a court order, dismissal, time served, or satisfaction of a county sentence may permit a person to leave the secure jail. A sentenced person may instead transfer to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. Another county, a federal or military authority, a treatment placement, or an agency acting on a detainer may receive the person. A detainer is a request by another authority to hold or transfer someone after the local basis for custody ends.

The destination is as important as the release date. “Released to ODOC” records an exit from CCDC, but the person remains confined under state authority. A farm-out or outside-agency field can also point to continued custody. By contrast, a bond release usually means physical departure while the criminal case remains open. Comanche County District Court records may show the order or bond event, though the court docket does not always state the exact time jail staff completed release processing.

Confirm a CCDC Release

The county's official Detention Center page labels its linked jail search “Current Inmates.” Enter through that page so the official relationship to the BlueHorse system is clear. In the vendor interface, use Past Inmate for a prior booking. The separate Past 24 function was active during the research review. A name search can be narrowed with beginning and ending dates, State ID, or permanent ID. Record the booking number and jacket or permanent number before opening detail, since those values distinguish separate bookings for the same person.

The past result may show a release date, location, and farm-out indicator. Detail tabs can include incarceration, charges, bonds, detainers, inmate information, and court data. Read each label literally. A release date confirms departure from this booking, while a detainer or farm-out clue may show that another custodian took control. Match the case number to the OSCN docket search with Comanche County selected. The Judgment and Sentence, dismissal, bond order, or release order explains the legal basis more reliably than a short status label.

1. Open the county Detention Center gateway and follow Current Inmates.
2. Select Past Inmate, then search by name, known identifier, or a narrow date range.
3. Save the booking and permanent numbers and transcribe the release date exactly as labeled.
4. Review bond, charge, detainer, location, and farm-out fields before deciding whether the person reached the community.
5. Match the case in OSCN and request the CCDC release record when an exact time, authority, or destination matters.

CCDC Release Record Requests

A precise request is the best fallback when the public interface lacks a time or clear disposition. Comanche County provides an Open Records process and a request form. Select Comanche County Detention Center and Inmate Records. Supply the full name, aliases if relevant, date of birth when needed to distinguish identity, known booking number, and a narrow arrest or booking range. Ask for the booking sheet, release date and time, release reason, releasing authority, public destination or transfer agency, bond information, charges, and booking photograph.

Send the form to the County Clerk in person or by mail. The form lists County Clerk, 315 SW 5th Street, Suite 304, Lawton, OK 73501, phone 580-355-5214, and countyclerk@comanchecountyok.gov. It says records normally arrive by email unless another mutually agreeable method is set. Do not send payment in advance. The county will identify any fee and exact amount. No fixed response time was published, so a request should ask for an estimate and track the date sent.

Oklahoma law adds a useful record target. Under 57 O.S. § 62, instruments or attested copies by which a prisoner is committed or liberated are endorsed, filed, and kept by the sheriff or deputy jailer. If a vendor screen does not establish the authority for release, ask for the public liberation or release instrument. Protected parts may be redacted. Medical details, sealed or expunged material, youth records, and security-sensitive data are not made open merely because they appear in a broad request.

CCDC Records and Contact

Use the detention line for a current operational question and the county records route for a document. Staff may need a booking number or full identifying information. Call before an in-person visit because fixed records hours and routine release-processing hours were not published. The live office should also confirm holiday availability.

The jail administrator named on the reviewed county page was David Weber, but personnel can change. Address a records request to the office or unit rather than relying on one employee's name. The county form also lists the Sheriff's Office at 580-353-4280. For the judicial file, the Court Clerk is 580-355-4017.

Property After CCDC Release

CCDC states that stored personal property is returned to the person upon release. That practical step can help family members understand whether physical release processing has occurred, but it is not a substitute for the official record. The county's Inmate Money and property page explains that a family member may collect property only in some cases. Written authorization from the inmate is required, and the administrator must approve the request.

A release can occur before family coordination is complete. Confirm instructions directly with CCDC rather than assuming who may collect an item or when. Keep the property question separate from the legal status question. CCDC Current Versus Released

The current roster and past-inmate functions answer different questions. Current Inmates is a snapshot of people shown in the jail now. Past Inmate supplies affirmative historical booking data, including the validated release-date field. A missing current name has many explanations: release, transfer, a spelling mismatch, delayed data, or a corrected booking. Never convert absence alone into a confirmed release.

The county has not published a retention limit for the public past-booking view. Older records should be pursued through a targeted CCDC request and the matching district-court docket. Search caches and commercial mirrors do not establish an official county retention policy.

CCDC Weekend Release Records

Comanche County publishes a local weekend misdemeanor bail schedule. It lists eligible categories, accepted payment instruments, waiting rules for certain bookings, and exclusions. The schedule can explain one path out of CCDC, but it cannot prove that a named person's bond was accepted. Check the booking's bond field, the court entry, and the release record.

The county does not publish standard gate hours, an ordinary release duration, or a promised exit time. Court processing, identity checks, payment confirmation, another hold, or a receiving agency can affect the sequence.
