Comanche County Release Records

A Comanche County jail release means that one booking has ended at the facility that held the person. It does not always mean a return to the community. The person may have posted bond, completed time, received a court order, transferred to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, moved on another agency's hold, or entered a treatment placement. Each outcome leaves a different trail. The current Comanche County Detention Center roster answers who is shown in that jail now. The first task is to identify the custody system. CCDC handles the main adult county-jail population. Lawton Municipal Jail handles city ordinance matters. Comanche County Release Types

CCDC records may use terms that describe either freedom or movement. That distinction matters. A release on cash or surety bond usually marks physical departure with a case still pending. A dismissal or court-ordered release provides a legal basis, but another hold can still prevent a community exit. A farm-out, transfer to ODOC, or transfer on a warrant closes the CCDC stay while custody continues elsewhere.

Does a release date prove the case ended? No. It proves the listed booking ended on that date. Bond release can occur months before final disposition, and a transfer can occur while the sentence continues.

Comanche County Release Record Fields

The county-linked BlueHorse past-inmate system supplies an affirmative release-date field and identifiers that help separate one booking from another. Its observed results included booking and jacket numbers, name fields, birth date, location, release date, and a farm-out indicator. The detail can also expose incarceration, charge, bond, detainer, and court data. These entries are more useful than mere absence from the live roster, but the court file and formal release record remain the stronger sources for legal reason and exact authority.

Not every field must be public. Juvenile, medical, protected personal, security, sealed, and expunged material can be withheld or redacted. When a label is vague, copy it as written and ask CCDC what it means. Do not turn “farm-out” into “free,” or a charge disposition into a final court result.

Request Comanche County Release Records

Comanche County accepts an Open Records Request through the County Clerk. The form can be returned in person or by mail to 315 SW 5th Street, Suite 304, Lawton, OK 73501. It lists CCDC and Inmate Records as choices, asks for a date range and description, and normally routes records by email. The county says not to send money until staff provides an applicable fee and exact amount. No fixed response time or flat fee is published, so requesters should seek an estimate.

1. Collect the full name, aliases, birth date if needed, booking number, and a narrow booking date range.
2. Select Comanche County Detention Center or Inmate Records on the county form.
3. Ask for the existing booking sheet, release date and time, release reason, authority, public destination, bond data, and photo.
4. Request electronic copies and an itemized estimate before staff incurs a charge.
5. For a court order or certified case document, call the Court Clerk at 580-355-4017 instead of using the county form.

The County Clerk is at the same courthouse complex as CCDC, but the offices hold different records. The clerk can route the county request; CCDC creates the jail record; the Court Clerk maintains district court filings. Comanche County Record Access Law

The Oklahoma Open Records Act, 51 O.S. §§ 24A.1 and following, favors access to government records while preserving stated exemptions. Section 24A.5 governs general inspection, copying, and fee rules. It allows reasonable direct-cost charges and limited search fees in statutory circumstances. A request should name an existing record and narrow date range rather than require staff to create a report.

There is no verified public promise that the online CCDC past-inmate view retains every record for a set period. Older county bookings should be pursued through a focused jail-record request and the matching court docket. If a case is sealed or expunged, respect the current response from the court and record custodian. Expungement under Oklahoma law depends on the disposition and other facts; release alone does not erase the record.

Comanche County Weekend Bond Releases

Comanche County publishes a local weekend misdemeanor bail schedule for times when the courthouse is closed. CCDC accepts cash, cashier's check, or money order for listed misdemeanors. The posted amounts range from $200 for public intoxication to $1,000 for several listed offenses. DUI, impaired-driving, and public-intoxication bookings have an eight-hour wait, and specified aggravating facts can make the schedule unavailable.

The schedule excludes felonies and lists several other limits, including weapons, violence or threats, injury, protective-order violations, domestic abuse or stalking, most warrants, and a person already on other bonds. It explains one path by which a weekend booking can end. It does not prove that payment was accepted, that every hold cleared, or that a named person left CCDC.

Property After Comanche County Release

CCDC states that stored personal property is returned to the person upon release. In some circumstances, a family member can collect property with the inmate's written authorization, subject to review by the jail administrator. That rule can help with practical planning, but a property pickup is not a substitute for the official release sheet.

For an ODOC parole or discharge, state record policy adds a different rule. Original identity documents held in the legal file, such as an eligible state ID, birth certificate, passport, or military separation form, are provided to the inmate. This concerns state custody and should not be assumed for a county-only booking.

Find Comanche County Released Inmates

A sound Comanche County released inmate search begins with an affirmative event, not a missing name. For an older event, use the beginning and ending date fields. Then compare the booking with the correct court and custody source.

1. Check the county-linked current roster and Past Inmate search. Record the booking and jacket numbers.
2. Read the release date, location, farm-out flag, bond, detainer, charge, and court tabs without changing their meaning.
3. Search OSCN with Comanche County selected. Match the case number and read the newest order or disposition.
4. Check Oklahoma VINE for an agency-reported custody change and register in advance if a future notice is needed.
5. If the docket shows a state sentence, use ODOC Offender Lookup. For federal custody, use BOP and the federal court record.
6. Call CCDC or file a focused inmate-record request when the exact time, release authority, or destination matters.

Use at least two identifiers before treating records as the same person. Booking date, offense date, court filing date, projected release date, parole eligibility date, and physical release date each describe different events. Note the source and access time in Central Time, especially for a rolling recent-release result.

Lawton Release Records Need Routing

Lawton maintains a separate Municipal Jail and Municipal Court for city-ordinance criminal and traffic misdemeanor matters. State-law misdemeanors and felonies go through Comanche County District Court and OSCN. A person can therefore be absent from CCDC because the event belongs to the city system, not because the county released them.

First identify the arresting and custodial agency. For a Lawton city booking, contact the Police Department Technical Services Division, which includes both Records and Jail sections, and compare the matter with the Lawton Municipal Court. For a CCDC booking tied to state law, use CCDC and the Comanche County District Court docket. The general county records form expressly excludes court records.

ODOC Search After Comanche Release

The ODOC Offender Lookup follows a state sentence beyond one jail bed. Search by DOC number when known. A name search should be checked against descriptors, county or court, convictions, sentences, photo, and status history. Depending on the record, the result can distinguish incarceration, community corrections, parole or probation supervision, and prior or discharged status.

ODOC is not proof of release from a county-only booking that never entered the state system. A projected date also is not a completed release. ODOC says exact future dates may be confidential and that dates supplied to inmates are tentative because credits, conduct, and other events can change them. Confirm a completed state event with status history, VINE, and any relevant PPB result.

Comanche County Recent Release Search

The county page calls BlueHorse “Current Inmates,” yet the linked application also enables Past Inmate and a genuine Past 24 function. Past 24 returned release rows during the research check. For three days, there is no fixed 72-hour endpoint; use explicit beginning and ending dates and label the result a custom range. The application gives no public update schedule or archive-retention promise.

A useful recent-release review opens the matching booking and checks the farm-out, bond, detainer, charge, and court details. A date row can show that the CCDC stay ended. The detail explains whether it may have been bond, another hold, or movement to another custodian. When the online entry is incomplete, ask CCDC for the release log or named booking record instead of relying on a broad web search.

Comanche County Release Supervision

Oklahoma separates parole decisions from day-to-day supervision. The Pardon and Parole Board publishes dockets and results, while ODOC Probation and Parole administers community supervision. A favorable board result is not the day a person walked out. Conditions, detainers, planning, and ODOC processing may remain. After release, ODOC status and the assigned office describe the active supervision route.

ODOC lists a Lawton Probation and Parole office for Comanche County at 3801 SW 6th Street and Lawton Administration at 602 SW Highland Avenue, both with 580-248-9146. A supervisee should follow instructions from the assigned officer rather than assume either public address is the required report site. Final discharge ends the identified supervision term, but parallel cases still need review.

Comanche Release Alerts and Transfers

OK VINE supplies agency-fed custody status and free notices by phone, email, text, in-app message, or TTY when offered. Search the exact person and reporting agency, compare identifiers, and read the event literally. “Released” is stronger than roster absence. “Transfer” means custody may continue. Federal cases need federal sources. The BOP locator can show a release date and “Released” or “Not in BOP custody,” but that phrase is limited to BOP. People in U.S. Marshals pretrial or transport custody may not appear as sentenced BOP inmates. ICE's locator covers present immigration detention and is not a permanent release archive. A CCDC exit on an ICE hold should be described as a transfer unless ICE or counsel confirms community release.

Comanche Court Release Evidence

Renamed Lawton Prison Release Search

Lawton's state prison changed names twice in a short span. ODOC bought the former Lawton Correctional and Rehabilitation Facility on July 25, 2025, and called it Red Rock Correctional Center. In 2026 it became Chief James Smith Correctional Center. Historical searches may need all three names.

A change of owner or name is not a release event. Search the person's DOC number and status history in ODOC, then use VINE and a PPB result if relevant. Someone who moved between that prison, Lawton Community Corrections Center, or another ODOC site remains in state custody until parole or discharge is recorded.

Fort Sill Release Record Limits

Older web results can surface Fort Sill Regional Confinement Facility, but that facility closed in 2010 and its confinement mission moved to Fort Leavenworth. Fort Sill now has a Personnel Control Facility with a narrow military return and disposition role. Neither is a CCDC release archive or a standard public county jail.

Military cases belong with military command and records channels. If military authorities transfer someone into civilian custody, the receiving jail, federal system, or court becomes the source for that later event. A county roster search should not be used to infer the outcome of a military disposition.

Each search answers a narrow question. Use the source that maintained the custody at issue, then seek an affirmative date or event.

Note: A transfer closes one facility stay but does not prove return to the community or completion of the underlying sentence.
